Today you will hear from CCAM-ERAS project partners and key stakeholders as they share the research findings and what they mean for you.
We are working together with stakeholders from across the transport system to prepare Europe's transport workforce for self-driving technology. CCAM-ERAS delivers the tools, training pathways and policy guidance needed to ensure a fair, skilled and future-ready transport workforce in the age of automation.
A full afternoon of presentations and panel discussions, closing with networking drinks.
The project has built a modelling framework based on Cambridge Econometrics' E3ME model to assess how CCAM will affect jobs across sectors and occupations, helping policymakers and educators plan for a fair, future-ready transition. Our work shows how skills needs are shifting across the value chain and how jobs will be reshaped, including growth roles such as remote operations, fleet orchestration and compliance officers.
This panel will explore how self-driving technologies are expected to affect skills demand, where key bottlenecks and mismatches may emerge, and what actions are needed to prepare the workforce for the transition. The research highlights a persistent challenge: the pace of technological development is often outstripping the ability of education, training and certification systems to adapt. At the same time, skills needs are evolving across a wide range of functions, from vehicle operations to compliance, and more.
Building on the broader project analysis of CCAM's implications for employment and society, this panel focuses on translating these insights into concrete, operational guidance, enabling government at all levels to systematically integrate socio-economic considerations into mobility policies, planning processes and decision-making cycles.
The event takes place at Comet Louise in central Brussels, a short walk from Place Stéphanie.
